| The Geographical Institute CSFK has been conducting research related to Transcarpathia, Western Ukraine for more than 20 years. The peculiarity of this region is not only its turbulent history and present, the parallelism of belonging to the East and the West, but also the constant change, being in motion all the time. Our research activity aims to examine the current socio-economic (geo)political processes of Transcarpathia in regional and macro-scale contexts (European, post-Soviet, Ukrainian, and Carpathian basin). Besides, we pay special attention to the micro-worlds of families and settlements in Transcarpathia. During the seminar, we give an overview of our main research results and introduce our on-going relevant research. |
