SN 2009ib was a Type II-P supernova (SN) that exploded in NGC 1559. We
collected extended observational datasets of this SN, which was published
in Takáts et al. (2015). Our study included analysis of archival HST images
of the host galaxy, allowing us to search for the progenitor of the SN.
These images, however, are not particularly deep therefore our study
resulted in several open questions. In order to answer these questions, we
obtained new, deeper post-explosion images in October 2015 with HST.
In my talk I'll present the results of our on-going analysis of both the
pre- and the post-explosion HST images and discuss the implications for the
progenitor and the environment of SN 2009ib.
