The potential occurrence of liquid water on Mars is a hot topic today. Model based and in-situ observed humidity values are useful to evaluate this possibility. We investigated the global seasonal variations of near-surface relative humidity and relevant attributes on Mars, by analyzing the seasonal effects at four specific dates in the Martian year. We identified three specific zones, where the near-surface relative humidity levels are systematically higher than in their vicinity regardless of season. Such locations and conditions might help the deliquescence process, the formation of microscopic liquid water on hygroscopic mineral surfaces.
