Analysis of Near Earth Asteroids is important for both to understand the orgin of the Solar System and also to support the mitigation against any possible future impact event. The HERA mission (formerly named AIM), planned by ESA, aims to analyze the Didymos double asteroid parallel with the NASA DART mission. The NEOMETLAB project at CSFK analyzes the infrared spectra of various meteorites to identify the observability of expected minerals of asteorids, and support the proposed infrared detector onboard the HERA mission. The talk overviews the general scientific background and first results of the laboratory analysis, focusing on the infrared spectroscopy of meteorites.
