| GRBAlpha is a small, 10x10x11cm sized satellite, operating since March 2021. This satellite carries and experimental gamma-ray detector setup consisting of a scintillator and the required data acquisition electronics. The aim of our mission to provide a feasibility and in-orbit demonstration of the employment of such a detector arrangement in order to observe and characterize the most energetic astrophysical events: the gamma-ray bursts. The detector subsystem was built and the satellite itself was integrated in Konkoly Observatory during the fall of 2020 while the platform side of the spacecraft was provided by small Slovakian companies having flight heritage from the SKCube mission. Along with the history, goals and the conceptual design of the satellite, in this presentation we show the most interesting highlights of the first year of the GRBAlpha mission. |
