We have developed a technical demonstration of an ultra-wideband receiver combining Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) Band 7 (275–373 GHz) and Band 8 (385–500 GHz) frequencies, which can be used for the development of ALMA receivers in the future. The new receiver provides improved spectral accuracy over more than twice the RF bandwidth of the current ALMA band 8 receiver.

In this talk, I will present the design of the key components, their measurement results, and the measurement system. The new receiver was developed to fulfill the design criteria of the current ALMA receiver cartridge over combined bandwidth. The receiver cartridge was demonstrated to meet specifications of linearity, stability, and aperture efficiencies in the cryogenic condition.
