Activity of TRAPPIST-1 analogue stars observed with TESS

An unfortunate consequence of the TESS observing schedule is that TRAPPIST-1 (the favourite star of many) was not observed in the primary mission. To circumvent this problem, we analyzed the TESS light curves of a sample of ultracool dwarfs similar to TRAPPIST-1, in order to constrain their average magnetic activity properties, mainly the superflare rate, which is of interest for exoplanet habitability. In this talk I summarize the results we obtained based on full-frame image photometry of stars barely visible to TESS.
